Fritz Kalkbrenner was born in East Berlin in 1981, spent his teenage years there and discovered the Berlin techno scene following in the footsteps of his brother Paul. His most successful track came about by chance when brother Paul was looking through old tapes for recordings and discovered vocal tracks from "Sky & Sand". In the course of soundtrack production for a then small Berlin underground film, "Sky & Sand" became part of "Berlin Calling" in 2008 and gained worldwide cult status. Based on this experience, Fritz Kalkbrenner set out to produce his own music. The musical formula consisting of his distinctive voice and the analog, mostly "warm" sounding house beats matured into his musical signature, which was well received in clubs as well as "home listening". Since then, numerous albums and many EPs followed, which he will present to us at DEICHBRAND 2023 on the Electric Island.
