We are looking forward to welcoming newcomer Lara Hulo to DEICHBRAND 2025! She discovered her love of music at an early age and taught herself to play the guitar. But it took until 2022 for her to appear in public. Lara started with TikTok, built up a community there and her song ‘Side B*tch’ got a lot of hype before it was even released. With her ballad ‘Für Änni’, the Berliner-by-choice calls for queer perspectives to be added to German indie music. The indie artist captivates her listeners with her unique, raspy voice, reminiscent of the great days of Nina Hagen or Hildegard Knef. Her lyrics tell of her life as a bisexual young woman and deal with the issues that drive us all. Packaged sometimes as a quiet ballad, sometimes as a self-confident musical statement. Specialising in love songs, she manages the perfect balancing act between ballad and certain indie pop with her raw, powerful voice.
